SSG Brookline is now SSG Boston Area, with classes in Brookline and Watertown.
With the new academic year, we've started new classes in the Italian longsword.
December 2007
Classes are running again, and we're eagerly awaiting the visit of SSG instructor Colin Hatcher and his Abrazare and Daga seminar (see below).
With our friends from SSG New Jersey, we're also starting to plan for Get Together 2008 (possibly May 3rd/4th). Last year's event had classes on the Gioco Largo, Dagger, and understanding the Italian of Fiore's texts, along with test cutting, footwork and pell drills to take home, and even sword throwing. This year will also include a Pas D'Armes and more!
So, for more on our classes, seminars and the next Get Together, join the Yahoo! group to help out!

Abrazare & Daga Seminar Feb 23rd - Feb 24th 2008
SSG Instructor Colin Hatcher will be coming out for his highly-acclaimed weekend seminar of Fiore's abrazare (grappling) and daga (dagger).
The abrazare material will include the Cinque Prese, and safely falling and applying locks.
The daga material will include tactics, drills and plays drawn from the First and Third Daga Remedy Masters.
Saturday night will also include a small Pas D'Armes form of tournament.
There is limited couch/crash space available. Cost for the weekend is TBD, but will probably be around $80.
TBD: See Contacts for more info.
Congratulations to Jarkko, Mary and Noah, on successfully testing for their Compagno rank! Congratulations as well to Charles on successful testing for his Scholare Minore rank!
We're hoping for future testing at the Compagno, Scholare Minore and Scholare levels at the seminar or Get Together 2008! |
