Want to form a Study Group in your area?

Our Mission: To study, practice and refine the arts of swordsmanship and horsemanship as they might have been practiced in the Middle Ages, supporting and incorporating the rich corpus of materials left to us by our ancestors in the medieval fechtbuchs. To encourage our students to develop their bodies and their spirits by practicing their art with training in all manner of medieval weapons and techniques, then applying these skills in various medieval feats of arms. We charge our students and our teachers to become worthy exemplars for others, offering fellow students of the sword respect before derision, and more importantly, to adopt a chivalric philosophy that encourages the knightly virtues and cultivate a sense of personal responsibility through which our modern society can be improved.

    Dec 1-2
2007: Zogho Stretto Symposium & Tournament in L
    ittle Rock
The Little Rock study group will be hosting a Zogho Stretto seminar on December 1st, with a small pas d'armes on December 2nd. Contact Jason Willis, the Little Rock study group leader, for more information. Little Rock has thirteen tests requested (three scolari, four scolari minore, and six compagni), a certain testament to the efforts of Jason, Scott, Charles and the whole membership of the group.

Feb 2 2008: Introductory seminar in Omaha, NB
Brian R. Price will be in Omaha for presentation of the material in Sword in Two Hands and Schola testing. Contact Tim Hardisty for more information.

Feb 23-24 2008: Abrazare in Boston Area

Colin Hatcher will be in the Boston area to offer his introduction to Fiore's Abrazare or grappling arts. Contact Charles Deily for more information

Nov 21 2007: Carbon-Kevlar sword trainer testing begining
DFW has received the first Revival Martial Arts carbon-kevlar high-technology trainer samples today and will begin aggressive
testing starting Nov. 26th. Further testing samples will be sent to SF, Little Rock, and Boston for the second round. These performance
sparring weapons will, we hope, enable truly althletic unarmoured free-play with only light protective equipment. While we will likely need several rounds of prototyping modifications, it looks very promising.

    August 28, 2007

Schola Compagno Course Notes DVD now available!

Thanks to the indefatiguable efforts of Austin study group leader Patrick Owens, we now have a Schola DVD available as an important training aid! Its available for $34.95 through our Revival webstore.

    Poleaxe simulators now available!
They've been in development for a long time, but Brian's Talhoffer 1467 poleaxe simulators are now available at Revival.us! Cast in dense but pliable rubber, the weapon-heads and thrusting points give students an excellent feel for using a medieval poleaxe, without all of the risk. Available as compoments, kits or complete weapons.

    Martial Arts Hall of Fame
In July, Brian was inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame at a ceremony in Nashville, TN. This was the first time that many martial arts instructors had the opportuntity to view any of the Western martial arts, and Mr. Price demonstrated fundamentals of Fiore's longsword and selected incroisade plays for the assembled group of 6th - 9th dan black belts.

    Forthcoming Seminars
Next Fiore longsword seminar is 22-23rd in Lawton/Ft. Still, Oklahoma. See the Lawton study group page for further information. July 29-30 Brian will teach at the U.S. Martial Arts Training Camp in St. Louis, MO. .
