SSG Tulsa Study Group :: The Tulsa School of Defense
Study Group Leader: Jon Eppler :: 918-237-1082 :: jon.d.eppler "at" gmail "dot" com Primary Foci: [edit appropriately] Italian medieval sword in two hands, armoured combat, adaptation of material to SCA combat contexts SSG Tulsa is now forming as of July, 2009. The Tulsa School of Defense has become an Affiliate of the Schola Saint George in order to gain a structured curriculum for medieval weapons while simultaneously preserving our identity. Students meet on Tuesdays, currently in Cleveland, OK, working through the fundamentals as presented on the website and in the book Sword in Two Hands. We are hoping to build a regular exchange with the Bartlesville SSG members, and to work regionally on all of this cool stuff. We're working towards potentially testing for Compagno in October at the SSG DFW tournament. Our medium-term objectives are to graduate a body of students through the five structured levels and then help to build a parallel curriculum based on the Liechtenauer Kunst des Fechten, which we already study. The Tulsa School of Defense also offers a developed Renaissance program, so students may study one or both. For more information on the classes held on the UT campus, contact John or Jeni Eppler.
