Guy of Warwick was a powerful symbol of English prowess during the fourteenth and fifteenth century. The Guy of Warwick romance was copied many times, with copies turning up in a great number of private libraries. In other words, it was something the book-owning English gentry was reading.

There are also a host of other interesting articles in this volume, including one on training by Pierre Gaille.
